League Information:
BRYC volleyball is a open to BOTH boys and girls. They play together on the same team. In the High Division, co-ed rules are followed. The House Division of BRYC is a developmental league created for players
with varying skill levels. The players are placed into three
groupings, an Elementary Division (grades 4-6), a Middle School
Division (grades 7-8) and a High School Division (grades 9-12). BRYC also has Travel Team for the higher skilled players. New in 2008, BRYC has started CLUB TEAMS for the higher skilled players to compete in tournaments across the country. The BRYC Volleyball League starts in Mid-March and ends the 2nd
week in June. The cost to play is $75. Registration forms are accessible at www.BRYC.org
beginning in November with registration closing around mid February.
Team placement is made upon conclusion of the registration period
with coaches contacting parents about practice and game times. The registration form has a place to indicate other players you
wish to be teamed up with for ride sharing purposes. We can't
promise placement but will certainly do everything possible to
accommodate those requests. Please include any scheduling conflicts
that will assist us when placing your child on a team. BRYC Volleyball also has a Travel Volleyball Team for the Middle
School and High School Divisions provided enough players wish to try
out for the team. Volleyball games and practice takes place only
during the weekdays. We have no weekend activity. Each team will
practice once and play once a week. The schools we use are assigned by Fairfax County Recreation and are
local to the Braddock Road area – Frost MS, Laurel Ridge ES, Little Run
ES, and Old Creek ES are typically the schools assigned. Practice and
game times are based on coach’s work schedules. If registration is full and Registration Forms are no longer on our site,
e-mail the Volleyball
Commissioner and we will add you to our Wait List. Provide your name,
child's name, home and cell or work phone, home and work e-mail,
grade, school and if you are willing to coach a team.
